So, I Deleted my Patreon…

A while ago, I signed up for Patreon and for a while I received support from a number of awesome people. Their money helped me cover hosting costs, research costs and more, and for that I’ll always be thankful. However, I have deleted my creator account.

There are several reasons and none of them are negative:

  1. I felt really mean about keeping some of my content back from people who supported my work in other ways.
  2. I felt a certain pressure to be always producing more content and that I wasn’t producing enough on a regular basis to justify asking for the support
  3. I now have a job which pays me well enough that I can cover my costs
  4. I think there are causes which are more deserving of the generosity of my supporters

I want to take a moment to say a massive thank you to those who showed their support while I was a Patreon creator. You helped us to fund the purchase of much-needed equipment for The Spooktator podcast, the costs of speaking for a charitable organisation, research materials and costs, and more. It’s hugely appreciated, but now, please enjoy my blog for free 🙂
