The 5 Worst Ghosts of 2014

Since 2010 I have been writing an end-of-year summary of the five ghost stories that made me grumpy or angry because of their rubbish nature and 2014 is in no way different. Technically there are still eleven days left in the year at the time of writing this but I think (read ‘hope‘) it’s safe to assume that Christmas and New Year will keep rubbish ghosts out of the news until 2015. On Dealing With Fear Of Ghosts In Children

As someone who tries to maintain a reasoned approach to paranormal research I often get asked by people how they should deal with children who are afraid of ghosts and monsters. I can remember the early reports of the Beast that originated from the village of Hilperton (where I grew up) that sits on the outskirts of Trowbridge. I grew up having bad dreams about the beast being on the prowl nearby, and this is why I am always interested when the legend raises its head each time. Continue reading

Spirit clearing; unethical nonsense

There was a time in my life when I owned a smudge stick with the sole purpose of using it to banish any evil spirit I might come across. I saved it and saved it and saved it until the one time things would get so out of hand I’d have to use it. I still have it somewhere. On the other occasions when mediums or psychics I was working with told me there was a negative energy in the building we were investigating I would simply say a protective chant such as “apage satanas” (Latin for “be gone Satan”) or I would ask for white light to protect us and banish the darkness.
