Here come the latest batch of ghosts that probably aren’t ghosts. Get ready… Continue reading
During a paranormal investigation at The Green Dragon Pub the Ghost Hunters of Stockton on Tees (G.H.O.S.T) reckon they captured footage of a spirit orb shooting out of the head of one of their team members. The Gazette reports ‘John Skerritt, 21, says that he felt a burning sensation on his face just moments before the strange occurrence – which you can see between around 36 and 46 seconds into the film.’ Continue reading
I liken my paranormal research to solving one of those picture puzzles where you’re not told what the final picture will be. You can have lots of pieces of the puzzle that make up some image that is sort of recognisable, but without all of the pieces of the puzzle it is nearly impossible to say for sure what the final picture looks like. In this analogy the picture puzzle is the case of phenomena being investigated, the final picture is the rational conclusion, and the missing pieces of the puzzle are the bits of information that I, as an investigator, have to try and find in order to work out the rational conclusion to the case. When it’s a hardly visible line-shaped thing on a poor quality piece of footage that is 2 seconds long. That’s when. To clarify for those not in the know, a piece of footage has been doing the rounds in the paranormal interest communities that it is claimed shows an apparition of a ghost cat running across the hallway. The footage was taken from an IR DVR camera in The Shanley Hotel in Napanoch, New York but what we see is a low quality copy of the original that leaves a lot of questions unanswered. I was contacted on Twitter today by Scarlet Jones who is a reporter for the Whitstable Times asking me if I’d look at a video that had been sent to them by the Whitstable Nutrition Centre that they claims shows possible paranormal activity happening within their store. You can see the story and footage by clicking here. The short video shows a man walking into an aisle and looking at boxes of tea bags when, unnoticed by him, a red box floats off of a shelf behind him and hovers in the air, then a green box flies off of the shelf next to him and as he bends down to pick it up the red box finally tumbles to the floor too. *update* I may have been a bit hasty with my opinion on the CCTV ghost reported in The Metro. Bob Dezon has pointed out that a similar effect can be created using Adobe After Effects as demonstrated in this tutorial video that he sent to me.
‘Ghost’ caught on CCTV video at ‘haunted’ community centre in South Rouislip’ claims The Metro newspaper in big bold letters. Underneath is a video that supposedly shows the ghost in question on footage taken from a CCTV camera, accompanied by an account from the Caretaker of the Rouislip Community Centre who says:
I was sitting inside the hall and noticed a figure on the front CCTV camera,‘I looked up at the screen and thought I saw a person but wasn’t sure so went out to check. I went outside and no one was there but I thought they might have quickly walked around the side of the building into the park so I just went back in. After downloading the CCTV footage I was surprised to see that the figure had been recorded onto the system. I can’t explain this.’
