ABOUT HAYLEY

A paranormal researcher living and working in the British county of Wiltshire, I have been investigating paranormal mysteries for more than two decades, since my teens. I conduct my research using a scientific methodology with the aim to find rational causes for mysterious and strange things that people report.

Most of my work is confidential but by best known public cases include the Ghost of Clevedon Pier, the Ghost of Torquay Museum, the Bownessie Lake Monster, the MacKenzie Poltergeist, the Ghost of Tantallon Castle.

When I’m not investigating mysteries I can be found either working at my full-time job, writing for The Skeptic magazine, or doing what most millennials do (living in a constant state of existential crisis.)

Favourite horror movie: Silence of the Lambs
Favourite fictional ghost story: A Christmas Carol (Muppet version. Light the lamp, not the rat.)
Favourite real ghost story: The disembodied voice heard by Arthur Crick at the Tower of London. (Google it.)

Writing

Although I primarily publish to this blog, my writing has been published in several books, the UK Skeptic magazine, Skeptical Inquirer, Paranormal Magazine & elsewhere.

Public Speaking

I often get invited to speak at conferences and public events, and I’ve had the pleasure of speaking to international audiences about the interesting science of researching paranormal claims. I have to fit these events around my actual career though, so events are few and far…

Media Consultancy

I get contacted by other writers, researchers and producers for expert advice and commentary on the research I conduct and the paranormal in general. I’m happy to contribute my “expert opinion” with the caveat that I might be wrong! Get in touch.
