About
Hayley lives in Wiltshire, England and works full time in the arts industry within arts venues. Since her teens Hayley has been investigating paranormal claims – but she wasn’t always the skeptic that she is today and would often be found tipping tables and taking part in seances, and that is why she is able to offer a quirky insight into the weird world of ghost research.
Since then she has also branched out into the odd bit of monster research too and is well known for her research into the ‘Bownessie lake monster’ case that is still ongoing. You can find details of her research by visiting the ‘case studies’ page in the menu above. Her aim is to simply be a good investigator, and her work is inspired by Joe Nickell, and her personal friend Bob Dezon.
She is a host for the popular ‘Righteous Indignation Podcast’, blogs on The Vigilantes Blog, has written for Paranormal Magazine, Skeptical Inquirer and The Skeptic among other magazines, books and websites. She also delivers public talks to a variety of audiences on request and you can find details of upcoming talks on the ‘Media’ page.
Hayley is the founder of Project Barnum, a resource helping educate people about psychic trickery. She made headlines in 2012 when she complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about a group claiming to heal cancer and many other illnesses who as a result claimed the ruling was ‘religious marginalisation’. Since battling a life-threatening illness in her teens Hayley has always been wary of spurious health claims and has challenged claimants in a number of ways ever since, often with positive results for common sense.
